Hey guys,

I let my younger brother borrow my Kindle Fire and now every time I open a web browser, a new web pages shows up. Sometimes, it's a scam shopping site, you know, selling replicates and similar stuff. Other times, it's a some sort of web search page but it doesn't really returns any results, so I guess it's also a scam.

I've cleared the cache, removed cookies, cleared history and even tried several antivirus apps, I think AVG and the other one was like Trust.. something but it hasn't fixed the problem. What should I do? I don't keep any important information and files in my Kindle Fire. However, I still want it to be completely free of spyware and other viruses.

Any help is very much appreciated.

You should restore your kindle fire to factory conditions - this will remove the malware (probably adware) for sure:

1. download amazon's stock software: http://www.amazon.co....deId=200790620

2. rename it to update.zip and place on root of sdcard

3. boot into TWRP and wipe cache, dalvik cache and factory reset

4. flash update.zip, however it will stop the install mid-way and say it can not find the misc volume or something, but fear not

5. boot up and you'll be restored to stock!
